Education & Work Experience:
- Master’s Level Degree – 7 year (s) experience
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in law, political science, other social sciences or related disciplines.
Experience:
- 7 years of professional international work experience in multilateral or non-governmental with increasing level of responsibility
- Experience working in developing country settings is required and experience in crisis/politically complex contexts is an asset.
- Experience in developing and supervising development projects aimed at developing national capacities for community security, security sector reform, armed violence reduction, small arms control, reintegration and/or Rule of Law, Justice and Security.
- Proven track record and policy experience in rule of law, security and human rights issues in crisis and fragile contexts.
- Proven track record of management.
- Proven track record of networking and partnership skill (ability to mobilize support from a wide range of partners – public, private, academic, civil society, business community leaders)
Languages
- Fluency in English both written and oral;
- Fluency in French and/or Spanish both written and oral;
- Other UN languages an asset
